I tried Campbell's Healthy Request chicken noodle soup. Even adding salt didn't make it taste good.
I'm one of those people that almost never salts his food. Mom used to say that if I salted the food she knew it needed it.
As for restaurants, salt is a cheap flavor enhancer that almost everybody likes. Spices are more expensive and people have varied opinions on which ones and how much.
