Best cow dog we ever had was a St. Bernard. When it was milking time we'd turn him into the pasture and tell him to go get the cows, he'd take out after the cows, a few minutes later we'd see the lead cow chasing the dog back to the barn. The old lead cow had issues with the St Bernard, she wouldn't blink or even get up for the other two dogs on the place but got a little cranky if the St Bernard was in any of the cattle pens.
