I'd try getting some paint off the tag. Make sure you get the serial number though,not the spec number. There should be a casting code number up on the bottom of the rear end housing. That would tell the date the cast was poured,but if it's one of those close to the date they changed over months,it might be borderline between an A,B or C series. I'm trying to remember how to read that code. I don't remember if it's month/day/and last number of the year,or day/month and last number of the year. Lay under it and see if you find something like 1244 or 5145 or some such thing. That would mean something like 12th of April 64 or May 14 65 or something like that. Somebody on the Oliver/Cockshutt forum will no doubt remember how to read it.
