This is the best we can come up with,but still we never seen anything like what you showed. I would consider it unsafe, until proven other wise. Better safe than sorry. I used to save the big half mushrooms that grew on elm trees, hard as a rock. Put them on our fireplace for mantle pieces. Got rid of them when we moved into our new house,as we didn't put in a fireplace. We have a few dead elm down by the creek,bone dry, makes fine firewood,it just died beaver damed up the creek and flooded the trees over winter time froze em out.
