A quick and easy check, look at the capacitor, check the connections, look for evidence of burning around the terminals, split case, burned smell. It may have 2 capacitors.
If the caps look ok, remove the tension on the belt and remove the back end of the motor. Look at the contacts on the centrifugal switch. If they're burned or not making contact they can be replaced.
