Was in the Air Force, were traveling from our detachment on the Peloponnesian peninsula in Greece to Athens in a Mercedes D309 bus (armor plated, low profile), it lost the left front tire, taking out the headlight and bumper. Our so called "support" base in Athens didn't want to do anything for us. Since I was the ranking member on the bus I told the folks in Athens they need to cut orders 'cause if the bus isn't fixed or they don't give us another one they'll have 18 members TDY in Athens until it is. Only then they "found" the parts (tire & wheel and a headlight). When we got back to det. The old man chewed my butt because I didn't call him as soon as there was any chance of us staying over, honestly I don't know how he became an 0-5 selectee without understanding the concept of a bluff or making a small problem a bigger one belonging to someone else until they play nice with you.
