You may as well bite the bullet and buy new batteries. (IMHO, in my experience.)
24 months into a 36 months "pro-rated" warranty they will "give" you a few bucks for warranty off of a greatly inflated "retail" price, making it less costly to simply find the best cash deal you can find on new batteries.
Then, when not using the combine, disconnect the batteries. Once again (in my experience) a machine like a combine that sits unused for long periods in the off season is a TYPICAL reason for battery death/"warranty claims".
