Put methyl alcohol(gas Line Deicer) in the tank and go! The algae lives in water in the tank and will form almost transparent masses in the water globules,alcohol removes the water globules,the filter will get most of it. Many filters have a drain on them so you can let off dirt and water before start up. Not a big problem,can be solved in five minutes or less. Good luck and let us know how it works for you
