Arthritic people were wearing copper bracelets back when I was a kid, before the modern anti-inflammatories. Maybe it did work, I can't prove it one way or the other. When I was younger a wasp sting would hurt like crazy and then start itching a couple of days later. Now at the age I am I just feel a pinch for awhile and then it's gone for good. Usually they nail me on the top of the ear. I hear that airy sounding buzz and then PINCH! When I was five years old or so I was nailed fifteen times on the back by wasps. I was following dad around and he picked up a cement block with a wasp nest in it. He dropped the block and ran when the wasps came out but for some reason I froze in my tracks and they took their aggression out on me and I wasn't wearing a shirt. Mom said I acted a little funny and my eyes dilated but that was the only effect it had on me.
