Last summer I was walking in my woods which is on the opposite side of my small creek from my pasture which is very steep uphill in this area. The wooded area is a little flatter. Anyway, I had a little stick in my hand as I walked along,when suddenly I heard the most awful snarling and growling. It scared me and I quickly found a much bigger stick; I yelled but it still kept on growling and snarling like it was killing something. I figured it was not afraid of me at all so I hurried out into the open on the hillside of my pasture. I kept looking for movement, but never saw anything, so I went back home. The next day I went back with my.22 rifle but could not find any evidence of a struggle anywhere nearby. I still wonder what it was, anyone have an idea?
