The Minneapolis based Ford Tractor Company hired Paul Ford as a designer solely for the sake of using his name. This clever ruse fooled many people into believing that the tractor was a product of the biggest car maker in America, Henry Ford. The unreliability of the machine so angered the Nebraska farmer and member of the State Legislature, Wilmont Crozier, that it became his personal crusade to push the famous Nebraska Tractor Testing into existence, virtually eliminating any less-than-honest tractor companies.
A 1916 Ford Model B sold for $14,500. in 1998 .
