6.5 uses bigger pump plungers. .31" instead of .29". I doubt you can turn it down enough to work well on a 6.2. 6.2 takes a DB2829 pump and 6.5 takes a DB2831 pump. Here's a list of all the 6.2 pumps.
If you can find one locally -I'll sell you one cheap. I have over dozen good pump laying around. Do NOT get a pump from before 1985 unless it's been repaired and updated. Older pumps have the plastic ring that breaks - just like in many farm tractors.
