Depends where the problem is. If it is in the bead area will not work as the reliner stops about 2" from the bead and for wire I think the problem is the bead. Now if it is cracks in sidewall they work well and last for years. The reason most boots fail is if the bad part is 2" long they will put a 4" long boot over it when they should be using a 8" long boot as the cords will be dammaged that cannot be seen and they only just try to cover the visibal dammage, not the underlingy dammage that they cannot see. A 4" boot is only good for a nail type hole, not a break but that 8 or 10" boot costs ten times the 4" so they do not want to spend the extra money to do it right. In their place they work good and will last for years but there are places that they will not work and I think that is what you have as where else would the wire be comming from if not the bead that they do not cover.
