I happen to make a living killing invasive / exotic weeds and trees. I can"t speak for Tordon (not legal in FL due to groundwater). But we regularly use a 80% crop oil 20% tryclopyr (remedy, Garlon 4 ). This can be applied cut stump or frill and girdle (cut the bark back with a machete or hatchet 1 or 2" all the way around and paint the cut. ) this mix can also be applied to the bark, no cutting, from the root coller up the trunk,18", all,the way around. Round-up straight works well too, but must be applied to a cut stump immediately. This is not so critical with the tryclopyr /oil mix. Hope this helps.
