RN May be right on target. The fact that it tries top run after shutting it down might indicate a stopped up air filter or rather oil soaked. Also having to choke it and getting smoke on start up could also be results of oil soaked air filter. IF I were you I would make a quick drive by the dealership and look. Some new guy fresh tech may overhaul your engine before you know it and get a good bill.
