Years ago I took a course in statistical anylysis. You can prove whatever you want to depending on method used to gather and analyze data. There are over 300 million people in the USA. That is one person per 100,000 people. Did some of them have underlying conditions that put them susceptible to problems in the food supply. I do not trust any government statistics unless like said before you know the methodology used to come up with this figure. Also, was study peer reviewed by more than one professional organization. I doubt it. Anyone worried about food borne disease should look at the number people that die from mistakes in the hospitals or hospital acquired infections which kill several times more than food will. Have to wait till the next life for the utopian era where there will be no disease.
