Donovan, the first video indicated that the carrots are in the ground and they cover them with plastic, then straw, to "overwinter" them. Maybe it is more economical to store them in the ground than in a warehouse. Maybe they have more available land in England, heck, in the States, you don't give it a rest. Yank them suckers out of the ground and plant another crop next week! Gotta make money!
