The grand kids (6 and 3) visited me at the farm last weekend. I had found a small 5" terrapin crossing the road and gave it to them to play with. They had a couple hours of good fun with it, feeding it, naming it, watching it open and close, and then we turned it loose to go back into the wild. Then, running thru the sprinklers when it was 85f was great fun too. They love pretend driving on the tractors.
Amazing how much entertainment can happen without electricity, semiconductors or batteries.
