I think the 699 is one of the best tractors I have eveer owned! Brilliant 6 cylinder Perkins, although ours had the fuel tweaked. Watch out for PTO not stopping and drips of oil under the front axle drop box. Early models had an 'O' ring in the swivel but it was changed for a lip seal which was great as long as you made a habit of greasing the swivel of the drop box every time you filled diesel or daily. The 3 lever gearbox was absolutely super and trouble free. My tractor has 12,000 hrs+ of work done and the only problem to date has been the mod I did to the front axle drop box. Always let the tractor idle before disengaging the PTO and you will have no issues. ..........Sam
