The switch can be used if the bulbs are of equal wats to the original, or less. Led replacement lamps with interchangability (same socket) will draw far less and actually make enough light to use. Very recommended. If your SC has sealed beam lamps, the 12v lamps are available, but expensive. I would put in either an aftermarket led assembly, or a aftermarket housing with the bayonette bulb.
