I've seen the same thing for years. Used to be German Shepherds, then it was Dobermans, then Rottweilers, now it's Pit Bulls. Any of these breeds can be the most loving, gentle, loyal and child friendly animal in the world. Or they can be nightmares. I have seen many people who encourage aggressive behavior in their dogs. I've dealt with more than a couple back when I was still working. There are laws to cover people like this and their dogs. IMO they don't get used enough.
As I said in another post related to dogs, the US could kill off 90% of it's dogs and cats and we'd be better off for it. Too many people have too many dogs (I include my wife!) and cats and either can't/don't take care of them or release them to become pests/dangers to other people.
