Lets see. . . 1960. . . I was just finishing up 6th grade. Mr. Morton was my teacher- very funny guy, but had a temper problem- he finally got canned for bouncing Ray Atteberry off the radiator. Ray richly deserved it, but even in those days, there was a line you couldn't cross. Apparently it was OK to wail on Ray with his own paddle-ball paddle, as Mrs. Turner did in 5th grade, but Mr. Morton went over the line.
