That is something I have wondered myself. In a real collapse of the US and or world economic system I would think that Silver coins would have more of a use than gold. Think of it like this, money is worth 1/10th of what it is today, in the course of a year, scary. Gold goes to $4000 per ounce cause the dollar is scrap. Go to a gas station and ask for a fill up with a $4000 coin.......A $150 silver coin would be more usable I would think. Just speculating here. Fuel/Oil/food/firewood/other items can be bartered.
