I'm not trying to put my nose in family matters by saying this, but your farming your dads place and he won't sell you 2 or 3 acres to put a house on. Sounds like there is something wrong with that picture. 2 miles away might not be such a bad thing. Atleast there is a little bit of distance there. Sounds like your dad might be a little like your neighbor and not really want you much closer either.
