If that's the date code and the letter Z is correct. Look for a engine serial number above the cover on the right side of the block. Just above where the crankcase ventilation pipe mounts to the cover. Also down below the number 3 spark plug. It will be stamped in. Also if there is a serial number there, look above the oil filter for C-264 cast on the block. Then above the C-264 look for 6 numbers followed by R1. A few M cast date letters can end up looking like a Z. So if that's the case and its a M engine look for a serial number stamped in just above the right engine cover and below the first spark plug. Also below the 3rd or rear spark plug look for a cast number 6722 followed by 2 letters Like DE, DG, DJ, ETC. If the block has a serial number and a casting number the month and year the engine went into a tractor can be determined.
