I think you mean a 8 volt battery. Generally the type of batteries used in cars, Trucks and Tractors are 2 volts per cell. A 6 volt battery will have 3 vent holes, 8 volt - 4 vent holes and 12 volt - 6 vent holes. The generator on a farmall (delco-Remey) I've been told can supply up to 28 volts. I remember it being very common to simply replace the 6 volt battery with an 8 volt. Can't quite remember as I was very young, if they adjusted the regulator / replaced it / or left it alone. But it worked somewhat. Ed : I have a 6 volt system still on my 1952 farmall A I have put a 9 volt battery in it.....what must I do to the charging system now so it will charge
