It was 61 years ago today I was drafted and sent to Ft Meade MD. I had just turned 20. My brother had joined the Air Force in June 1951 3 days after we graduated from high school.
I ended up at Ft Bragg NC with the 82nd Airborne Div. My wife joined me after attending jump school at Ft Benning GA. After I was discharged in 1955 I was rehired back at Aberdeen Proving Ground as returning vet. I had to resign when drafted and that law was changed by the time I was discharged.
