That's been my experience with live auctions, used up junk selling for more than new!
Went to a police impound auction many years ago. There were rows and rows of cars and trucks. You could look at anything you wanted to look at, but no starting them. Saw some of the most useless wrecks imaginable go for outrageous amounts of money!
Later someone told me some of those bidders were actually car thieves that needed a clean title and VIN number for one of their less that legal vehicles... Go figure.
