Sorry guy, but SOME horse and SOME mules are afraid of soft ground. Others aren't. A mules foot is generally much smaller than a horses of the same general size. The horses bred for working the soft lands in Europe tended to have big hooves and they were trimmed to maintain size. You put a mud plate on some animals and you'll have a rodeo the likes you've never seen before. That goes for mules too.
