Its time to plant corn. most guys plan on starting Monday. our insurance date, here in SE Nebraska, is really April 10th but a guy can fudge a little. replanting corn because of cold is almost a thing of the past with the new hybrids. I always plant 3in deep. we have such hot weather in July and August that you want corn, especially dryland, up as quick as possible. ground temp really don't mean much if you plant by the calendar, because the days get longer.
