It has been 40 yrs. since I repaired some pits in a hyd. cylinder shaft with liquid steel. Clean them up good and wash them out with thinner. Apply the liquid steel. Next day dress it first with a file then polish it with emery cloth. It worked perfectly and held completely dry until I sold that many years later. I am now once again faced with a badly pitted shaft. My question is-- have they come out with something even better in the last 40 yrs. that I should use? Or should I not argue with success and use the liquid steel?
