I agree about checking on land values around you. This happened to us about 15 years ago. I was able to get double per acre of ROW from what they originally offered by doing a little research. I found them to be very reasonable as long as I was. Keep in mind; they are coming through, if you try for the moon, they will just turn it over to the Lawyers and condemn your property.
