My wife is a preschool teacher, we call her the kid whisperer. Her way of making rambunctious or unruly children bend to her will is really uncanny.
She uses the same influence on telemarketers and it is hilarious. She lets them come to their own conclusion if she is going to donate to them or not. It involves a series of yes or no questions that she asks and they have to answer before she lets them give their pitch. By the time she is done asking questions she already know the answers to, they are saying yes maam or no maam, and apologizing for calling her. They totally forget to give their pitch. It has gotten to be a good source of evening entertainment for us.
