I believe if you dig deep enough,you will find all chain with same grade is not equal. Some mfgrs desighn their chain to far exceed grade requirments. When it comes to Lbs rating of cable,rope and chain,there is a huge difference between 8k towing and 8k hoisting capacity. Chain has no place around earth moving equipment. Cable is much preferred over chain. The attachment method can realy compermise chain,rope and cable. I recently had a guy put the point of hook into a link and had a terrible time getting it apart.
