We have done a 3.9 , two 5.9's and one 8.3 swaps all in Oliver's none in a I H . A change over in a Oliver is a piece of cake and ya don't need any fancy change over kit . Just a type 2 bell housing and a flywheel and ya build your engine mounts. The 8.3 was the toughest of them due to the ft. drive shaft and we had to redesign the oil pan . Had it been a two wheel drive it would have been a drop in deal. Total cost including the tractor came in at around 8250 on that one . Things needed were the flywheel a grand and some misc pieces and parts that would have needed replaced even if we rebuilt the Herc. like the PTo drive and new PTO shaft some hoses and some 3/8th plate and some 1/8th plate for the oil pan . That swap was more cost affective then the rebuild on the herc. But have kicked around the idea of a 3.9 in a Farmall 450 D as here again it would cost less then tryen to rebuild the org. engine that has two cracks in the cylinders and a cracked head then try and find bearings for it . Then we could have a 100 plus Hp. 450 D TURBO .
