Picked up 2 brand new generators today for return to factory. Four cylinder John Deere motors painted yellow with a generator mounted on the back of the motor. Motor and gen set is mounted in a steel cage and is made to go in the hull of a large boat like a offshore shrimp boat. Since they were still in the original shrink wrap and packaging from the factory I ask the guy what was wrong. Did they send the wrong ones????
No Mother Deere called before he could install them and told him to send them back to the factory as the motors would not meet EPA standards. Said he would have another one to send back in a few days as soon as he could track down the boat and remove it. They are offshore shrimping right now.
I can imaging some one way up the ladder got a firm ___ chewing over this because you would think this is not the only place sending motors back.
