I often get legal questions from "friends" who know I'm an Attorney. If its in an area I practice in I have no problem giving them short off the top of my head answers but if it takes a lot of time, research and study to render a competent professional legal opinion, then I tell them to make an appointment. Id guess an on line service tends to give very general very broad answers and if there's a lot at stake, you're going to have to hire a local professional anyway who specializes in the are of law you need.
Beware of Billy Bob and Bubba or your know it all brother in law (or Tractor Forums) for professional legal advice remains my best free tip........
