Feb. 19-23 we had our "Jan." thaw. Started out nicest ever. Clear and sunny, and just warm enough to start the melt. Then second day was cloudy, blustery, but the slow melt continued. Then on Fri., day three, the big storm was pushing north through the Midwest. We were getting warm air pushed north, on the east side of the storm, with just a chance of rain. Just as the snow was melting nicely, that chance turned into just over an inch of rain. The only good thing about all the flooding was the hard frozen ground held. Flooding was just everywhere as ditches were full of packed snow/ice. We have very little snow to get rid of now.
