Three of my granddaughters got deep into Irish dance when they were younger. My oldest granddaughter is now 22 years old and she's still dancing and teaching Irish dance.
I've never figured out how the musicians or the dancers knew when a song was supposed to end. The music just goes on and on and then suddenly, they all stop. My granddaughters were never able to explain to me how to know when the song was over, "They just knew".
Irish music is very similar to Bluegrass, especially Appalachian Bluegrass.
