I was taught growing up to work hard and give my employer his money's worth. As a young apprentice plumber on a union job I was encouraged to slow down and drag it out. Older guys threatened to get me fired for my "lets get it done" attitude. I was let go for my "bad attitude".
During that time I had a 72 Chevy truck and a 74 Chevy Impala. Both vehicles where junk with multiple repairs. By 1980 the bodies where so rusted out that they where not functional.
During that era union made cars are junk. Union workers had an arrogant extortionist attitude that drove prices up and quality down.
