This is NOT a "design defect"! The root cause of this is poor sparkplug installation. If the plug is not properly seated, then it CAN blow out. The fix is usually a "heli-coil", and proper plug installation. No problem. Had one done in a truck at 250,000, and had no problems up to when the truck was sold at 350,000 - and the additional 50,000 the next owner put on. ANY aluminum head can have this happen.
