I left the farm when I was drafted in 1953. My brother joined the Air Force in 1951 and I had went to work for the US government. I still helped my dad with the morning milking until I was drafted. I had to resign when drafted, but that law was changed to being furloughed by the time I was discharged. I also married my wife we went to school to together, but graduated from different high schools about 5 miles apart. Our daughter was born at Ft Bragg NC and soon will be 60.
