A 12" plow is designed to plow 6" deep, a 14" is 7" deep and 16" is 8" deep. So if you are plowing 8" deep the 16" will roll it completely over bet a 14" wull not and a 12" you will hardly get it to turn over at all but a 12" pulled at its operating design depth of 6" will roll over the soil as good as the 16" at 8" deep. That would be why the poster just ahead of me thinks a 16" will roll it over better than a 14" because he would have been trying to plow with the 14" at a design depth of the 16". That is assuming all sizes are designed alike but then different styles a 14" will turn things ofer better than the 16" at its design depth.
