The type of ground will make a difference, but the biggest thing is not to plow it wet. I learned that if I still have puddles in my driveways, it was far too wet to plow. Let the ground dry out properly, and it should break up nicely as you plow, and will break up easily as you disc it. I'd rather wait a day or two to plow rather than to work it too wet. Suffice it to say, I haven't put a plow on a tractor in close to twenty years. I prefer no-til because it's easier on the kidneys....
