i got pulled over one time for speeding and he asked for my dl, insh, reg so i gave him my lic right away and started searching for the others, about 20 mins later i still am looking and getting warmer and he says just give me an old one thats good enough. i don't know why they even bother asking when they already looked it up on the computer and know before they pull you over.
another thing, here in calf if you haven't got a ticket in 18 mo's you can pay the stupid fine, go online and pay the stupid fees and take the stupid course and show up in court with the print out that you passed and payed for the stupid course and it will not show up on your license. and the first question he asked was "has it been 18 mo's since your last ticket ? when i said yes, his eyes lit up and he actually felt good about giving me a ticket. i have a friend that is a CHP and he used to love to tell how he loved to give tickets. he's a Sargent now and has to drive a desk. years ago i rolled a stop sign and as soon as i did there was a cop right there and i looked at him like oh, man, busted. so he takes my lic. etc... and comes back all pissed and says next time put your belt on before i pull you over. im like huh, um aaa what ? aaa yes sir. he didn't see me roll the stop sign, no ticket, yay !!!
