Mike (WA) said: (quoted from post at 16:21:13 02/23/14) Farm Show magazine had one awhile back that a guy had built- it was an inclined platform that you drove the lawn tractor up, and when you got far enough forward it would go over center and come down (like a tilt trailer) with your rig level and about 2 feet off the ground.
You could also lock it in the inclined position, to use as a loading ramp, or to drive your rig up and wash under the mower deck.
I'm thinking about trying to make one for cars. Wouldn't have to go as high- just get the car far enough off the ground to comfortably use a creeper, maybe a foot or so (I've got low cars and a high tummy).
Make it stout!! But yeah a good idea.
Maybe I just dreamed it...getting older, but remembered thinking this 'new invention'..was nothing more than an air end lift with fork lift legs sliding for width adjustment on a spreader bar. The legs with hard rubber pads for getting under a car bumper had been removed..
