Tx Jim has it correct, will not run 180 degrees off. I have seen the pump drive shaft installed 1/2 turn off at the hydraulic head tang drive because the oil pump was installed 1/2 turn off. The mechanic didn't want to drop the oil pan to correct it. That's why I always look when repairing injection pumps to see if the shaft is in right, or has been turned 1/2 turn at the hydraulic head. There are some indirect prechamber diesels that will run 180 out, but poorly and start very hard.
