A few weeks ago a buddy brought his straight grain truck over with an air leak behind the dash. So I took the dash out and found small broken plastic air line. Fixed it and reinstalled the dash. When we walked behind the truck the brake lights where on. We looked things over, the pedal was returning fine. So figured the electric brake switch had stuck. So it took us about an hour to find the brake light switch. Unplugged it and the brake lights went out. So we both thought we need a new brake light switch. Opened the door to get the ven number to go get parts. Happened to look up at the steering column. The truck used to be a semi tractor. The trailer brake valve is still mounted under the steering column. He just took the control lever off. When I had the dash out the corner of the panel had hit the brake control and turn it on just a little bit. So just return the brake valve to off and the light went out. Only wasted an hours time for nothing.
