I hate ice. I live along the NC/SC line about 30 miles inland. Yesterday and last night we received alot of freezing rain. It amounted to better than 1/2 inch of ice on our trees and power lines. We have had many broken tree limbs. Some of my neighbors lost power around 2pm yesterday. I lost power around 8 pm last night. We bunked in with my mother (1/4 mile away). She has a gas heater, we are totally electric.
Electric co-ops phones were down most of morning (broadcast on radio). Contacted electric co-op early this afternoon. Hope to have current Friday, possibly Saturday.
Feeding cows extremely heavy with hay and feed. No current on fence. Hopping they will not try to wonder.
Ain't winter time fun? I should not complain. Everyone is dry and warm.
