My best friend trained at Bosch in Germany after WWII. My diesel was gelling on very cold night. He said try and buy some kerosene it will not gel, it wont hurt anything, by the time it gets warm it will be long gone, but you will get less MPG. That advise saved my life. Kerosene is fine, just don't use it when temps warm up as it will get very thin.
